Last June Roxton’s sponsored me to paint the Varzuga and Kitsa rivers in the Kola peninsular, famous for its prolific runs of Atlantic salmon. The paintings here were done on-site some under the midnight Sun. I must admit I was tempted to cast the odd fly with some success.

Tim Scott Bolton has, from an early age, with both rod and paint box, mucked about in, on or beside water. In A Brush with Rivers, he visits Kenya, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Ireland and Russia – but most of the waters beautifully illustrated are the glorious salmon rivers of Scotland and the crystal-clear chalk streams of southern England.

The Summerleaze Gallery in East Knoyle near Shaftesbury has tremendous exhibition space for letting. Situated in an exceptionally peaceful and beautiful corner of Wiltshire, yet within easy reach of London by road and rail. There are two beautiful exhibition galleries converted from farm buildings, each having a wonderful sense of space and light.
